Goodbye Michael & Genesis!
Having Mike & Genesis stay for the summer was such a blessing. My heart ached to see them head home and I'm looking forward to our next visit. Talullah was wary at first, but by the time they left she was completely won over. She loves her cousins so much. Thank you M & G for making our summer memorable. We love you!
Happy Anniversary to us!
It's so hard to believe that a year was passed since Nick and I walked down the aisle. We were so anxious to become Mr. & Mrs. and life just keeps getting better and better. Here's to looking forward to another eighty years together through thick and thin!

Giggles and Grins
All sorts of new and exciting events. Talullah just turned SIX months old and it seems like she is learning something new every single day. We started feeding her before bedtime, trying to fill up her little belly so she's hopefully sleep longer. No luck yet, but boy does she love the baby food. Her first meal was butternut squash and she liked it so much that she would start throwing little fits everytime I took the spoon away to refill it. She sticks out her little tongue to get each bite and we laugh every single time. On a completely different note, Nick was playing with Talullah in the living room yesterday when I heard him let out a yelp. I ran in to find my little girl leaking something awful onto the rug. Gross, but hilarious. She was having a grand time. Genesis and I were out doing yard work yesterday and decided to take a break to let T splash in the water outside. It was too cold and she kept trying to climb out of the bucket, clinging to my clothes. She was a good sport and didn't fuss though, so we caught some cute pictures before pulling her out.
Talullah is now sitting up and rolling over.
She's starting to scoot herself around a little bit, too!
Eating is probably her favorite thing to do, so I'm sure little rolls will be sprouting around her belly soon.
She is sleeping in her crib at night, but usually only until 3:30. ONCE she slept in it from 10pm until 6:30am so I'm hopeful it will happen again someday.
She has learned to squeel and loves blowing slobbery rasberies.
Her grip is SO strong and has found my face several times. Ow!
She has just doubled her birth weight and is up to 14 lbs, 24 inches.

Take me out to the ballgame...
Talullah went to cheer on the Padres at AT&T Park this weekend as their biggest little fan. She sported her Padres outfit all through San Francisco and enjoyed adoring spectators oohing and ahhing everywhere we went. Even Giants fans couldn't resist coming up to squeeze her cheeks and say she is the cutest thing they've ever seen. Of course, we couldn't agree more! It was a gorgeous weekend in the Bay area. It sprinkled a tiny bit during the evening game, but we witnessed an amazing rainbow above the water as we took a walk around the perimeter of the arena. Outstanding!
We spent the night in Healdsburg and fell in love. It's one of the prettiest towns, the Russian River flowing through it and a lovely downtown plaza. Talullah was being so quiet in her stroller. She had pulled the bow from her headband and fell asleep chomping on it. Silly little girl.
Cute Cute Cloth Diapers
I started using cloth diapers when Miss T was two months old. Honestly, I love it. Dallass was so helpful, letting me borrow her tiny covers and teaching me some tricks to establish a good system. I've done everything I can to cut costs in order to stay at home with my little girl, but I've truly come to enjoy using cloth. Kind of like breastfeeding... it definitely takes more time and patience, but it's all part of being a mom. See Taley's stylish bumkins?

Ready for the weekend
I am ready for a vacation. Lucky for me, we have planned a fantastic weekend trip to San Francisco. While it's not the tropical paradise I so desperately need, hopefully the getaway will hold me over for awhile. I packed a suitcase today and finished up the bow my mom made to match little T's Padres outfit. She tried to help with the project, but she's not quite ready for arts and crafts just yet. After a tough day she passed out on Genesis which gave me a chance to throw dinner together without a baby in my arms. Say a prayer that she's an angel for the drive tomorrow. I'm full of faith that God is sending some sunshine to the city so we won't need blankets for the game.
Awww... and isn't that picture of Talullah and her daddy just precious? What a team!

Quick Recap

Busy, busy, busy! Michael and Genesis are back, so we had both of them stay a night with us. We broke out Clue, which Genesis wins every single time. Scrabble I can handle... Uno I'm ok with. But Clue... I have never quite understood the strategy to. My 12 year old niece whips me every time. Talullah got to hang out with her nana and she was such a big girl sitting in the grass for the longest time. She seems to be getting better and letting others hold her, thank you Jesus! I'm so glad to be at home with her to experience the daily changes. She is making some new squeeling noises and getting so much stronger. I love how she hangs on to me now when I hold her, and I'm teaching her to give kisses. She loves her momma. Nick and I had such a great 4th of July evening at the Becksteds. Talullah stayed up late enjoying a few fireworks and we all had a great time hanging around the fire and chatting while watching the show. Anyway, that's a quick recap of our week! Can't wait to head to SF this weekend to see the Padres play and spend some money on shoes and bows for Miss T!!!

Time to Eat!!!
Jen is the queen of cakes. She's spectacular. Every single birthday party she's thrown for her kids, she has made absolute masterpieces. So, when I need to make an 'ugly' cake, I instantly knew who to call for help. Little baby girl was having the roughest of days. I'm not sure if she is teething or was just having some major stranger anxiety since Jen and her two children haven't been over in awhile, but Taley was fussy to the max. Thankfully, Jenny was patient and didn't curse my child even once, and instead she made the cake almost entirely on her own while I bounced, fed, rocked, sang to Talullah to calm and quiet her.
Here is the end result. Despite what you might think, this is just about the tastiest cake I've ever had. Scrumptious!!!
