Where did it go....?

Every time Nick and I go to Jitterbean, the girls know that they get to have a little sucker, as well. If we even drive by Jitterbean, Talullah starts asking for one. Berlyn is now old enough to get this special treat, and her dum-dum is always gone far before sister has finished hers. We made our coffee run last Monday, and when we got out of the car, Berlyn's stick for the sucker was nowhere to be found. Until.... I saw it.

Family Fun Time

It was cold, but the sun was shining, so we took a quick stroll by the river. I tried to teach Talullah how to skip, and we all got to throw small rocks into the water. Nick took a short video of the skipping, but in watching it, I learned that I also look pregnant from behind... so that video will not become a public viewing. Talullah loved playing in the big patch of dry leaves that had fallen, and she just kept throwing handfulls into the air. These girls just love spending time outside. It is precious to watch them discover things and take delight in simple moments of life.

Bike time!

Nick has been wanting a bike trailer to take the girls out for a ride for months. Bek gave us hers, and he has been so excited to use it! The girls look so cozy all bundled in the seat, eating their snacks and holding hands. Where will little sister go when she's old enough to join them?!

The Girls Room

Well, I've finally, fully moved the girls into the 'bigger' room. Their old nursery is now my craft room. (Let's see how often I actually get in there to do crafting once the new baby comes!) My mom helped me paint the girls room, and I was so nervous to put these colors up on the walls. Trying to be resourceful, I simply used two colors that we had in the garage from old projects. One wall is a light green, and the other three are a light yellow, Talullah's favorite color. No... sniff sniff... pink. Then, my friend Michele came and painted a beautiful tree on the wall. We tacked up a few flowers. Tah-dah! It looks ABSOLUTELY amazing. It's gorgeous. I walk down the hall, just to crack the door and look at it from time to time. I love it. Thank you so much to my dad for watching the girls (even while he had an earache) so that my mom could help me paint the room. Thank you so much to my mom for all her hard work in helping me slap that paint up on her days off. Always thanks to my husband, for having to put together the things that we take apart. And a BIG, HUGE thanks to Michele for turning the room into a masterpiece. What good friends and family I've been blessed with.

Happy New Year!

I'll go ahead and say it. We did not stay up until midnight. We did, however, find ways to enjoy ringing in the new year just a bit early. We sprayed silly string in the living room, which the girls did NOT enjoy. Both burst into tears at the instant mess. The glow lights were a big hit though. And, as always, getting in the hot tub is a favorite way to end the day. After splashing around in the water, the girls went to bed at 8 with no hassle. Nick and I were left to enjoy a quiet night (aside from the gun shots and fire works outside). Not crazy exciting, I know. But when each day is full of noise and joy is a constant in your life... having a calm and relaxing evening is a pretty great way to end a hectic year.

Oh, and the only reason I put on the embarassing picture of myself, is as proof that I was a part of our New Year celebration. It's the only picture that was taken of me, so it just has to suffice. Unfortunately.

Thanks, Michele!!!

Doesn't it look amazing?! This is my new craft room. My friend Michele came and painted the leaves today, and I absolutely love it.
