Summer... at least for a day.

Sunday was such a nice day, we spent hours outside playing in the yard, letting Miss T run around naked. She thought running through the sprinklers was pretty fantastic! The water was so cold, she was shivering like crazy, but everytime we turned off the faucet she started stomping her feet. This girl knows what she wants and she knows how to get it. All that fun in the sun wiped her out and eventually she brought the towel up to me and crawled in my lap. That swing always puts her right to sleep...

Baby Girl #2

in

A few girlfriends have been bugging me to post some pregnancy pictures. This isn't much, but at least those who live far away can see how big this belly of mine is growing. I am 22 weeks along with little Berlyn and she is starting to kick like crazy.
I thought about photo-shopping the scar out of the picture, but that just wouldn't seem right. I don't mind the scar as much as I mind the fact that it distorts my belly into a lopsided oval. For some reason, after the last surgery, one side of the scar always protrudes just a tad further out than the other.
Uh Oh. T has found my scrapbooking supplies and I see pictures scattered everywhere! Time to run.

Just another day

Talullah has decided that her play stroller is not just for dolls. I'm sure glad it's not a far fall because it's bound to happen sooner or later.
And look at that precious girl in her bathrobe. She's growing up much to fast.

A favorite moment

There are moments in my life as a mommy that I mental note as favorites. My little baby woke us up at 6am, bright eyed and ready to meet the day. We just cringed, begging her to crawl under the covers for at least another hour. "Mo" she repeated, pointing her finger to her lips. More food, Talullah? Always her way of getting me out of bed.
By 11:00 her eyes were droopy and she had urged Nick to drag her horsey out to the living room for some play time. She was thrilled to ride, smiling, and showing dad how she's learning to rock all by herself. When she laid her head down, it seemed like she was just giving the toy some lovin', like she often does. Next thing we knew, her eyes were closed and she was fast asleep. Definitely one of my very favorite moments of Talullah so far.

Expect the Unexpected

ont

Today was going to be a big day. I had it all planned out. Somehow, things never quite turn out the way you expect. The sun was shining and we were having a relaxing morning at home, waiting for noon to roll around so we could head to Eureka for Miss. T's first trip to the zoo. In the middle of packing our lunch for a picnic, my curious little girl reached in and grabbed the newly made container of juice, dumping the entire contents onto herself, my feet, the fridge, the floor. Red juice, of course. I spent the next thirty minutes or so wiping out the entire fridge since juice had made it's way into every possible nook and cranny from the second shelf down and into all 3 drawers. I then mopped the floors. Our tiled kitchen looks so nice, but the grout is ideal pathways for spills like this, spreading the liquid far and wide in a matter of seconds. It was well after 1 when we finally met Nate, Dallass & crew at Sequoia Park to sit down and enjoy lunch. The weather was absolutely perfect for a day outside. The kids ran around and I got to shoot a few pictures of T and her daddy playing. We were making our way over the the zoo when I started having stomach pains. Without grisly detail, we had barely made our way past the zoo entrance when Nick and I headed to the hospital for an urgent care visit to the OB. Thank God for his love, his peace, and his healing power because three hours later we left relieved, knowing that baby Berlyn is safe and sound in my belly. I was crushed that Talullah experienced her first trip to the zoo without us by her side, but we were so grateful that Nate and Dallass were able to show her a good time. They said she knew several signs for the different animals like goat, rooster, and chicken! Smart little cookie. I'm praying that we have another day so beautiful in the near future so we can head back up to Eureka. I fully plan on pretending like the next time will be her 'real' first trip. I can't wait to see her enjoy it!

Play dates

d
Megan and Addie came over to visit, and we were so happy that the sun cooperated and the weather stayed nice enough to play outside. The girls are so silly to watch, still not quite sure how to react to each other. Most of the time is spent trading sippy cups and following each other around the yard. It is always so fun to see the differences and similarities between the girls as they grow. I can't wait until they can talk together so we can have tea parties and do other exciting girly things.

Special time with papa

out

Every Saturday morning, papa comes over for his quality time with Talullah. This past Saturday, I made the mistake of saying 'Papa is here!" "Where is Papa?!" before he actually showed up. My little doll was peeking around the corners looking for him, and then headed for the front door. He always shows up around 8:00 and I have a pot of coffee waiting. He takes Talullah for a walk around the house; being outside is what she loves best! He sits her on the swing for awhile and lets her peek over the fence to see the barking dogs. Oh how we cherish our Saturday mornings with Papa.
