Moments to treasure...

Yes. Both girls are napping. At the same time. Each in their own crib. I'm sure this moment won't last long, but I'm going to sit back and enjoy every second of it while I can. Just drinking my cup of coffee and reading a few scriptures to wind down.

So sweet

My husband had to wake up early to go cut firewood. My parents had Talullah stay the night at their place, so it was just me and baby B sleeping in this morning. We didn't get out of bed until 8:30!
This was the cute note I found on the kitchen counter when I came out to make the coffee.

Dress up time for Miss T

We found a new costume to add to Miss T's dress up collection. I figure we'll need new ways to entertain indoors once the winter rain comes and we can't play outside all the time. We had to coax it off of her just to fit her into the carseat.

Trip to Adams

I was so excited to take the kids over to Uncle Adams. It was their first time meeting baby Berlyn, and only the 2nd time we've been able to play with baby Logan. We had such a wonderful time just catching up and spending quality time together. We even had all the kids picture taken together to give to nana for her birthday. I sure wish they lived closer so we could see them more often. Or... maybe I wish we lived closer to them. Then we could enjoy the pool in their backyard on those blissfully hot summer days!

Are you kidding me?!?!

Just one of the days. I was in the kitchen, trying to be domestic. In the middle of making dinner, I went to pick up the salt shaker... The bottom fell out.

Watch out, world!

Talullah has learned to drive!!!

Tea for Two

I love catching beautiful 'daddy-daughter' moments. I stepped outside today and found my husband sitting with Talullah at her princess play house. They were in a world of pretend and I hated to interrupt, but I just had to catch the moment for the scrapbook.

Monkey see, Monkey do

It was probably the nicest day of the year here in Humboldt, so papa took us to the zoo. Berlyn slept the entire time, but Talullah ran from exhibit to exhibit, galloping the way she does. She was thrilled to run around with the animals in the barnyard petting area. She went from goat to goat, waving... "hi!" "hi!" "hi!" She was even such a good girl, trying to share her sippy cup with one of them. What a good girl!

A trip to Jojo's.

We had the pleasure of spending Sunday out at the ranch with the family. Talullah has recently learned to say Jojo and Booboo for Johanna and Bek, and she soaks in the attention that her aunties eagerly pour out for her. The kids got to sit up on Jo's horse, climb all over the tractor, and pick strawberries from the garden. The highlight for me, of course, was the donkey that greeted us in the road on our drive in.

From Miss to Mrs

One of my best friends, Beth Mendoza, made the transition to Mrs. this weekend. I had the honor of being her maid (matron sounds much too old) of honor and the ceremony was absolutely memorable. They said their vows at College Cove overlooking Trinidad beach and the sun broke through just in time for them to say "I Do". It seems that I'm getting sappier as each year passes. When Beth's dad stepped aside with the bride and groom to deliver a private message, tears swelled in my eyes as I watched the sincerity and anticipation in their eyes. They are a beautiful couple who have a wonderful adventure ahead of them. What a privilege to
be part of such a special day.

Rock a bye, baby

Talullah is still trying to adjust to not being the 'baby' in the house.

Forget about those sweat peas!

So maybe there was a slight misunderstanding when I planted sweat peas instead of sugar snap peas. After months of anticipation, only to be sorely disappointed when I found out that my plant would not produce anything edible, I am thrilled about the progress of my tomato plant. It has nearly twenty beautiful fruit growing... just as green as can be. I'm wondering if these tomato's will ever turn ripe and red?! They seem to be taking forever.

There's no escaping now...

Nick built a fence so we can play in the yard feeling a bit more secure that Talullah can't run out in the driveway. It looks fantastic and it makes doing yard work so much easier!!! I'm sure some day in the near future she'll master the art of climbing and be able to wiggle herself over the fence. But until then, we're one step ahead of the game.
