Emily came over for a play date today. Jase and Aidan and Talullah had a great time playing for hours. What wonderful time for Emily and I to just sit back and talk. We've been friends since 7th grade, and now our busy lives don't allow us to get together as often as we'd like. What a blessing to maintain our friendship and get joy out of watching our children play together. Happy, happy day.

TIme to play

The giggles
Talullah can make Berlyn laugh better than anyone. They are going to be such great friends.
Chokit for dessert
Little kids just crack me up. Talullah ran up to me today, showing me that she was hiding something in her hands. When I asked her to show me what she had, she shook her head no and started to run off. I knew something was up. I told her to come back and show me what was in her hands, and she stopped. A huge frown came on her face and her lip began to quiver. She shook her head no again. Sternly, and holding back a smile, I told her again to come show me. She came towards me and I saw an Easter egg in her hand. No big deal, Talullah. You can play with that. Then she looked at me, cracked the egg, and showed the piece of chocolate she'd hidden inside. Her guilty conscience was killing her!

Papa... Come over!
Talullah has become quite a phone talker. She talks to her papa and nana nearly every day. This morning, my dad called from work to see how the girls were feeling. (They've both been sick with a nasty fever.) When I handed the phone to Talullah so she could talk, she said. "Papa! Come over!" I'm sure if he could have, he would have rushed right over to be with his granddaughters. We sure do love having family close by.

Nana's little girl
Nana came over a couple days ago. Berlyn was sitting on the bed with her dad, and she got so excited to see nana walk in the room! It was too cute. She was on all fours (Baby B, not nana) and a huge grin swept across her face. She started rocking back and forth, just willing her knees to teach her how to crawl. Of course, Nana's heart melted and she ran to grab her grandaughter.
Finally, some sunshine
It was just nice enough to go outside for awhile, so we took advantage of the moment. With the weather we've been having, we must get outdoors every chance we get. Nick was working in the garage building some new shelves, so the girls and I decided to decorate the driveway. Ok... I decided to decorate the driveway, Berlyn just drooled all over the place and Talullah told me what the draw. "Daddy. Mommy. Buhlin. Toolah. Grammy. Grappa. Nana. Papa." Very demanding like.
First boo boo for Miss T
I was sitting in the computer room and I could hear my poor baby screaming all the way outside. She was working in the garage with her daddy when she tripped and fell on the concrete. She was dripping tears down her adorable cheeks. Her little knees were all scraped up, and her hands were dirty from the fall. I held her tight and put medicine on her wounds, thinking that a band aid might cheer her up. Instead, she was so upset about the 'sticker' I put on her leg that Nick had to eventually just take it off. Of course, as sad as I felt about my daughter's pain... it was cute in that 'first time for everything' kind of way. Before I bandaged her up, I told her to sit tight while I ran for the camera. Her pose was just perfect.

Hole in one?
Lullabye
Snow?!
I know it's been cold lately, but SNOW? In Fortuna? It was hailing so hard, Talullah was worried about her play princess house outside. She just stood at the door saying "Oh no! Hailing! I can't believe it!" Nick wrote me a love note on our hot tub in the back yard. It stayed on for a full 48 hours before melting away.
