So close

To crawling, that is. She is getting so strong, holding her body up and rolling all around. You can just see it in her eyes; she's dying to chase after big sister. I'm guessing that she'll be mobile in another few weeks. How in the world will I survive when there are TWO little girls running around this house?!

So unfair!!!

On Tuesdays, I work from home and Nick takes care of the girls. Today it is raining outside, so they are stuck in the house. This is torture for me. I'm confined to the back room, working on the computer, and I can just hear what fun they're having without me! So far, Nick helped Talullah make rasberry/nutella crepes for breakfast and then... they made the coolest fort I've ever seen. They've been back there playing in it for an hour already. I went to see what the commotion was about, but as soon as I crawled inside, Talullah commanded that I leave and started calling for dad. No fair!!!

On a side note, this weekend we've started calling Talullah by her nickname. Before she was born we said her nickname would not be Lullah or Lulu. It would be Taley. I guess we waited too long to use it because when we call her Taley she furrows her brow and says "No! I Toolah!".

Where was I...?

I woke up to my cell phone ringing, and I jumped out of bed to go find it. When I came back to my room, I was confused. How... where did I fit in this bed before I got up? Annabelle is warmly tucked under Nick's arm. Talullah and Berlyn are snuggling back to back. Nowhere on this mattress was there enough room for me. I must have been laying on my side, half hanging off. No wonder my back is killing me!

It's Monday, Fun Day!

Talullah started out all bundled up: a dress w/ boots, jacket, warm hat. Not long into the walk, her jacket came off and the hat followed shortly after. A few minutes later she was trying to convince me to remove her shoes, but I had to draw the line. She loves to run wild thru the woods, picking up branches. "Here, mommy" then another. "Here, mommy". Of course, I pretend that they're the best branches ever. "Oh, thank you, Talullah! " She took her baby doll along for the walk, and insisted on helping dad push the stroller. Berlyn was happy as long as the stroller kept moving. We're so thankful to live in such a beautiful area. In just a short drive, we can be in the middle of the Redwoods, feeling like we're the only ones for miles and miles. The forest was a gorgeous green, the plants all shiny wet from recent rain.

But I don't WANT to go to bed

It was late and way past her bedtime. But, it was her birthday and she was being as cute as possible to soften our hearts and let her extend play time. She must have come in the room half a dozen times, each time in a new outfit or pair of pajamas. She loves her new dress up shoes and she looks into her princess mirror admiring her beautiful self.

Not the baby any more

Talullah is suddenly having a hard time sharing with her sister. We're bringing out all of her old toys... the bouncy chair, the bumbo, the play mat. She whines, and says "Mine!" We try to tell her that she's a big girl now, but sometimes I guess she just doesn't want to be.

Roll over, already!

We never, hardly ever, think to put little baby B down on the floor. Our precious angel is either in our arms or cozy in her swing, safe from her often over-loving sister. Today, we put her down on the floor mat. She is SO close to rolling over. She's probably have rolled over a month ago, had she just gotten in the practice.
