Lord, help me.

We had been home for a total of fifteen minutes.  I was in the kitchen throwing dinner together and Nick was taking a shower.  I heard him come out, followed by several "Oh no's."  There was some muttering, and then he called my name.  I knew it was bad, so I just took my time finishing the meal, getting in a few deep breaths before going to look at the damage.  Berlyn had climbed on top of a stack of paper, dug her hands around my scrapbook bin, and found CHALK.  Flaky, oily chalk that is for my paper crafts.  Chalk that I now regret ever initially borrowing from Heather, then coveting, and eventually buying for myself only to very rarely use.  Chalk that is now crumbled and smashed into my once white (hahahahah) carpet.  Carpet that I just spent an hour spot cleaning last week.  After picking up the pieces, vacuuming the crumbs, dumping Shout and scrubbing my heart out.........................................................  there's still a beautiful rainbow of colors to decorate the floor in front of my bed.  The end.

Serenade

I have multiple pictures just like this for each of our daughters.  Nick, sitting on our bed and playing his guitar for his girls.  Tonight was Havanna's turn.  She sat there smiling, listening to her daddy's voice.  Is there ever a picture of this adorable girl without a huge grin on her face?  Rarely.  She is such a little ham.  And i'm not just talking about those rolls. :)

Just one of those days...

This song popped in my head as soon as I saw this picture:  I had this CD by Monica when I was in highschool, and I know my friend Jenny will be able to sing along as soon as she reads the headline of this post.
It's just one of them daysThat a girl goes throughWhen i'm angry insideDon't wanna take it out on youJust one of them thingsDon't take it personalI just wanna be all alone
Talullah was seriously having 'one of them days'.  If she was talking, it was to whine.  On the bright side, isn't it so cute to see sisters playing in their world of make believe?  I love hearing their voices change into even higher pitches as they take on role of princess or pony.

Where's Berlyn?!

Oh.  There she is.  Hiding with Havanna's binkie, again.  For weeks we didn't have a binkie in the house.  Then, one snuck in.  Now there's two or three.  The idea is to only use them at nighttime, when Havanna goes to sleep.  But somehow... Berlyn always manages to find them.  She's so sneaky.

The more the merrier!

We had the cousins over last week.  They played outside and pulled out every toy available inside.  They laughed and had a great time running wild until Nick and I put on a movie for some down time before bed.  Havanna and Mae are missing from the photo, but here are the 'big'kids all in a row.  Notice that Berlyn has become a thumb sucker, suddenly.  What to do with that girl?!

Not allowed

But still cute.  Berlyn crawled up on the back of the couch and sat their playing in her pretend world with Rabbit.

She's almost got it!

Havanna is so close to crawling, it's ridiculous.  She moveds around, rolling, scooting, but she hasn't quiet gotten the hand/knee coordination to craw.  She has learned this new trick that is truly impressive, though.  She gets herself onto her hands and knees, then pushes off the ground into a push up position.  Then, one of her legs goes up in the air.  She balances like this over and over again!
