What my night looks like

Talullah has a chore. Besides picking up her toys, she is supposed to help daddy sometime during the day. Lately, she has been helping him bring wood in for the fire. Tonight, she decided to keep the sticks to play with, rather than add them to the stove. We looked over, and there she was... wrapping them up in a 'blanket' and calling one piece mommy.

My dinner tonight was less than tasty. Before we even sat to eat I considered dumping it all in the garbage and heading to La Costa. Alas, frugal mother that I am, we made ourselves consume almost all of our meal. Nick didn't eat the vegetables, but I couldn't hold it against him. We were hungry later, so I made cinnamon-date scones. They were a step up from the dinner.

I don't know why, but sometimes when I sweep the floor I grab Talullah's play broom instead of the regular one. Maybe the effort of opening up the closet door where my broom is kept is just too much effort after a long day. Using the tiny broom is NOT easier. I can only use one hand to hold the handle, and I kink my back bending down to make the bristles touch the floor. The dust pan is so small. Note to self: just get the big broom for crying out loud!
