I just love her little coo's.

Isn't he gorgeous?!

Do you like his beautiful hair do?  I tried to get him to come to Safeway with us looking like that, but he absolutely wouldn't.  The girls and I thought he pulled off Pinkalicious juuuuuust right.

The perfect end to a beautiful day

A feeling of accomplishment

Papa and Nana's house

It was Saturday, and it was fabulous.  The sun was shining, so we spent hours out in the yard getting some much needed Vitamin D.  Being at my parents house always FEELS like the weekend, because the kids love playing with Papa and Nana so much, they hardly notice me at all.  I just sit back with the baby and relax a little.
During our lunch 'picnic', I was truly thrilled to see Berlyn chomping down on raw carrots.  Oh the pride, as  a parent, when you see your children enjoying veggies.  Then... I realized she was only dipping them and licking off the ranch.  Again, and again, and again.

When will she learn?!

I try to get mad, but she's just so cute.  First of all, she's not supposed to sit on the cat.  Somewhere, deep down, I think she knows that.  Second, she's not allowed to play on our bed.  Still, when I come in the room... does she try to run and get off the cat and bed? Oh no.  She pulls out her binkie and says" CHEESE!"

A glimpse into the future

Nick showed Talullah how to use his iPod today.  Everywhere I looked, she was sitting down listening to some tunes.  I imagine I have much more of this to look forward to in the future.  But I'm hoping it's a looooong way off from now.

Totally domesticated

For anyone who hasn't also discovered this awesome tip via Pinterest, you can regrow green onions by simply saving the last inch of the root end and putting in in water.  I can't believe I'm 30... wait, make that 31... and I'm just now hearing about this.

And, a huge step in my life.  A feeling of accomplishment outdone only by the fact I've experienced childbirth.  I have, twice now, made homemade dinner rolls.  Edible.  Actually, quite delicious.  I'm not sure why I've been intimidated by making any bread involving yeast, because it ended up being a simple process.  I really do feel like I've fully committed to this whole stay-at-home mom, domesticated wife, future home schooling type lifestyle that I'd sneared upon in my early twenties.  Go me.

So sweet

Havanna has just started playing with her little toys, so I sometimes have a whopping ten minutes of hands free time when she's awake.  Her big sisters are usually pretty fascinated by the toys, as well, and Berlyn often pulls one off and goes running away with it.  Talullah just plays mini momma and helps the baby to calm down if she starts fussin'.

And now, I can finally relax

Story time with Nana

It was love at first sight.

She thought the mirror was simply fantastic.

Bath time!!!

Go Padres!!!

It's that time of year... again.  Nick has Talullah shouting "Go Padres!", although he was sadly disappointed when she picked someone from the Dodgers team to fixate on during a recent game.  She now knows that it can extend the bed time routine for a good twenty minutes if she convinces dad she wants to sit on his lap to watch the Padres game.  She's no dummy.  Even if we never have a little boy to call our own, Nick is certainly training these girls to be big fans so he has someone to cheer on his team.

A little stroll...

Down memory lane.  I came across this old photo of Nick and I.  What a difference 3 kids and 30 pounds can make. ;)  It's so hard to believe that this was barely five years ago.  We had only been dating a few months and we had no idea what the future would hold.  I love you, Nick.

Heat Wave!

Here chickie, chickie!

We ended up having to put the chicken feed out of the reach of the girls.  They enjoy feeding the birds so much that we're going through the food much too fast.  No wonder the chickens follow the girls around everywhere!

And the winner is...

This is my mother's last year teaching at North Coast Learning Academy.  She has given 110% for the past twelve years, and she is thrilled to 'retire' in order to spend more time with her grandchildren.  It's a sad loss for the school, but a huge gain for me!  This year, my mom was nominated and chosen to win the Excellence in Teaching award.  In a prestigious ceremony, she was honored for her hard work and dedication in the class room.  This woman doesn't do anything with less than her whole heart.  I've seen first hand the long hours she's spent decorating her class room long after the students have gone home.  She's spent countless hours on weekends grading papers and preparing lesson plans.  She's had me pick winners for her art contests.  And whenever we run into her students outside of school, they come running up, gushing over my girls because of the stories my mom has shared with them about her grandbabies.  And of course, once a teacher, always a teacher.  When the year comes to an end and she leaves her class room for the very last time, her job is actually just beginning.  She'll be teaching my girls whenever she can, I'm sure!

Isn't she lovely?

Havanna is growing so fast!  At her 2 month check up she weighed in at 12.4 pounds.  She has started smiling so much.  Just seeing these pictures makes me want to go squeeze those cute cheeks!

Quite a Surprise

We were so surprised when my sister in law showed up from out of town with my little nephew, Logan.  It was so nice to spend a couple of days together.  Despite the fact that the girls and I were sick, we all stayed in the yard for hours enjoying the beautiful weather.  Logan has since gone home, and Berlyn is still asking, "Where Loh-gie?"  We love him so much!
